Trip to Missouri - Summer 2010

Down at the river. It was cold water but Amelia loved splashing around & throwing rocks.

With Daddy in the river...brrrr! Actually it was hot weather so the water felt nice once you got used to it.

Up on Papa's rock entryway with Delaney & Madison.

The girls taught Amelia how to eat corn on the cob!

Sweet Delaney was such a big help to me!

Here's the turtle we found on the road.

Coco kitty was so tolerant of Amelia. He was happy with ANY attention (even the tail pulling)!

She finally got close to Crooked Cat (a raccoon attacked her when she was a kitten). Amelia kept doing this little face-covered 'tee-hee' laugh - so cute.

All dressed up for the party.

It was so cute to see Dad & Amelia start to bond. Every morning she popped out of bed asking for Papa. He insisted on this flower in her hair - his little Island Girl.

Look at all that beautiful land!

We're back from our trip to Missouri! We flew into Branson, MO last week to visit my Dad & Mary (Papa & Nana). Usually a trip to Missouri either involves a 13 hr drive or an expensive flight that connects in Dallas and THEN you have a 2hr drive to their house. Branson Air Express is a new airline that flies between Houston Hobby & Branson for very cheap fares and only a 1hr 20 min flight! The flights both ways were only half full so Amelia got her own seat (which we didn't have to pay for)! The drive to the house was still almost 2hrs but the cheap short flight made up for it!

Mary's daughter and her 2 kids came too so we had a full house and lots of entertainment for Amelia. Dad lives on 100 acres in the Ozarks - beautiful! We picked wild blackberries, splashed in the river down the road, rode on a riding lawnmower (woo hoo!), played with the kitties, found a turtle in the road, had a dinner party with the neighbors, and the list goes on. I will leave out details of the chiggers, ticks and snakes - yuck!
