Apparently he hit a patch of ice as he was getting onto I-10 (at a slow rate of speed he says), lost control, hit a guardrail, the airbags deployed and that was that. He really had absolutely no injuries thank God (and thankfully most of Houston listened to the advice of staying off the roads!). The funny thing is that he was thinking about getting a new truck in the very near future, as his had over 200,000 miles on it and things were starting to break. We have a 3rd vehicle, so replacing his truck wasn't an immediate need, but gosh we used that truck a lot! Ed really only drove it to work (and into the refinery - no place for a BMW!) but we need it for Home Depot runs & furniture purchases (and I have new landscaping projects to start this Spring!).
After a few weeks of research, he found a nice shiny new truck with 4 doors (so Daddy can now share some of my daycare pickup duties - woo hoo!).
Amelia was SO excited to sit in Daddy's new truck. We were actually afraid she might drive off with it...
