The Tooth Fairy

Yesterday I lost a crown off my molar during lunch.  I was able to save it before swallowing it (ICK!) but then ran crying to Ed like a child, saying OhMyGod OhMyGod OhMyGod, while feeling all sorts of pain, then some anger at the dentist.  Teeth just gross me out to no end...shudder.  Anyway, Amelia comes over to give me a hug and says "Don't be upset, Mommy.  This means the Tooth Fairy is coming!!!"  She was so sweet and SO excited for me.

Although later at bedtime, in true Amelia fashion, she had to question me on this Tooth Fairy person:

  • How does she get in the house?
  • What if she can't get in because we set the alarm?
  • Why would we leave the tooth under the pillow when the nightstand is right there?
  • How does she know how much money to leave?
  • Are they coins or paper money?
  • If she's a fairy, and magic, why can't she make pink dollars?
  • Are some teeth more expensive than others?
  • What if the Tooth Fairy doesn't have any money in her purse?
  • What does she do with the old teeth?
Good grief.  I told her to just "believe" already or she wouldn't get anything!
