The month of October will forever be busy for us! It's the time for pumpkin patches, fall festivals, Juliet's birthday and then Halloween.
Earlier in the month, Amelia's school had Career Day where the kids had to dress up in what they want to be when they grow up. We had already gotten her Halloween costume which was a Zookeeper, which she now wants to be when she grows up. Perfect! She was a little bummed that not too many kids actually dressed up, but her teacher said she kept her hat on all day.
Next up was the Fall Festival at our YMCA. Amelia decided at the last minute to wear last year's cat costume. She'd already worn her Zookeeper costume that week and didn't want to wear it again in case she ran into any kids from school. Juliet didn't want to wear anything costume-y but she agreed to the pink leotard and then I quickly pulled up a tutu to top it off. She took it off soon after - too itchy she said!
This is what we ended up with on actual Halloween evening. Our cul-de-sac has a big party right outside our front door. Juliet was up for being a Flamenco dancer although the dress was a bit big. Amelia wore her Zookeeper costume again, with embellishments this time. She has a snake crawling out of her pocket, a lizard on her chest and she's carrying a monkey.
Last week, Amelia's school had 50's Dress Up Day on the 50th day of school. This is the best we came up with. I made her this skirt over the summer and...it's in a poodle print! Works for a poodle style skirt, right?!
Annnnnnd here's Juliet on a random day. These sunglasses are a favorite during dress up time!
