Visit from Abuelita Pita & Papa / Updates

Sitting with Abuelita holding her purple "Pita" hat. She told me for a whole week that she had a hat just like Pita and she was going to wear it for her. Nah, didn't happen!

This would be a "No Pita!" moment.

But then 10 seconds later Papa sat down and Amelia ran over to give him a kiss!

We're starting to get obsessed with dress-up. This is from her 'Princess in a Box' collection.

With Paige & Tara ready for Kristy's wedding.

Daddy & I really need to get dolled up more often!

Amelia loved being silly with Aunt Paige.

Yes, stripes & polka dots DO match!

We had our first Popsicle in the backyard last weekend. Amelia gets the word mixed up and always asks me for a Motorcycle.

Ed's parents came for a week-long visit last week and we're soooo sad they're gone! They helped out so much with unpacking, painting & generally helping get the house in order. Amelia really enjoyed having her grandparents around and just ADORES Papa, following him everywhere. Of course she loves her Pita too but went through a phase of telling her "NO, PITA" in a serious voice and a side-eye look all the time. Was she just testing out a new attitude or am I going to be the mom that gets letters about my bully child at school? They left yesterday and Amelia told me this morning that "Pita go bye-bye when Amelia cries" - ??

My friend Kristy's wedding was last weekend so we were able to have a night away! Paige & Tara came in town and stayed at the house too (so happy we can accommodate multiple guests now!) and we all stayed at the Hotel Derek the night of the wedding. Thanks Pita & Papa for babysitting and allowing us to have a really fun night out!

This move has been tough on Amelia and she's had lots of screaming tantrums and a whole lot of clingy-ness. I hear "Mommy hold you" from her about 45 times a day (she gets me/you/I confused) and it's driving me crazy...any tips? We actually thought her 45 min screaming/tantrum/crying/hitting sessions were so out of control that we took her to the doctor HOPING for an ear infection or something else to explain her behavior. The doctor checked her out and basically said she's perfectly healthy and is just a going through the typical 2-yr old phase. Woo Hoo - when does this end?

Amelia's moved up to the 2yr old toddler class at First Baptist Academy and luckily that hasn't been too much of a change. Most of her last class moved up with her and she has one of the same teachers as before. The best part of this new class is that they're working on potty training!

We're doing a lot of updates to the new house and I'm almost done with Amelia's room. I will post before & after photos soon but here's a little tidbit from the 'before'!

I'm pretty sure the 6-yr old painted this part of the mural.
