San Diego Trip 2014

After our big Florida trip in June, we were ready for another adventure...this time WITH Ed!  We decided it was time to visit the San Diego area for a week.  The last time I'd been was when I was pregnant with Juliet!

Both girls are pretty good travelers.  They have their backpacks filled with things to keep them busy and they generally know the rules and what's expected of them.  It was an evening flight and they were SO excited about the trip.  They were SO excited that they turned into Rotten Gremlins the last 1.5hr of the flight.  ROTTEN!  We were given free alcohol by a flight attendant with a "sorry" and a wink.

Eve picked us up since Nick had to work, but he surprised us at baggage claim.

Juliet was terrified of Officer Nick but Amelia though his uniform was super cool.

Nick & Eve have THE CUTEST DOG IN THE WORLD.  Frankie was like a living stuffed animal and was fun to have around for the kids to play with.

On day 3 of our visit we met my brother Bill at Sea World.  We hadn't seen him in quite awhile and since he's living in the LA area, we just had to set up a day together.  Sea World was a lot of fun but the weather was SO HOT!  We spent about 5 hours together, seeing lots of shows and catching up.

Nick took us to Coronado Island for the day to hang out on the beach.  Amelia jumped right in, with no issues with the super cold water.  Juliet say No Way and would only dip a toe in.  The weather was awesome and it was fun to just explore and relax on the beautiful beach.

We ended our trip with staying 4 days in La Jolla. Nick took me there on my last visit and I fell in love with the beautiful town.  We got a hotel within walking distance to everything, and walking we did!  Up and down hills every day to get to the beach - such a workout with 2 kids!

One of the days we were there, Nick took Ed for the day to go on a Police 'ride-along'.  He got to see what a day on the job was like for Nick.  That left the girls and I to explore on our own, taking lots of "selfie" photos!

I love this photo.  I tried to pose next to a seagull sitting quietly on the post.  Next thing you know, it's coming straight for me!!!  No injuries, thank goodness!

Overlooking Seal Beach.  No fear of the cliffs in the background!

Me posing on a cliff!

This was taken somewhere along the way in La Jolla.  I love it for some reason- really captures Amelia's wild & free spirit.  Who needs a hairbrush?!  Shoes are usually optional too!

Oh Oh Oh!  Nick & Eve came and babysat for us so Ed & I could actually enjoy a date night!  They spent half a day with the kids and Ed & I had an awesome dinner and drinks kind of night.  Much appreciated!

We found a great grassy area above the beach - perfect for kite flying (see Amelia's hawk kite?!), cartwheels and goofing around with yoga poses!

Juliet had a great time picking flowers from someone's yard.  Gosh...is she barefoot too?!  Good times!

Nick took Amelia for a long walk down to the beach area.  It was so much fun having extra people for the kids to explore with!

I love this photo of Juliet holding Eve's hand.
